Flambos Hot Mess
The sections of dock are made of wood, so even the slightest touch by Flambo sets them on fire, burning them away in moments. Flambo has to move quickly before the burning dock gives way beneath him. You can drop blocks on the side or the bottom of the cube-shaped board in order to make matches, and moving blocks is done by dragging them with a finger. There will be a highlighted path to show you where a block will land, and you can launch them to make matches with a tap.
Cubes can be stacked both vertically and horizontally, and there will be specially shaped cubes that will act as wedges or change the color of blocks, so you must figure out the best strategy to use in each level. Monster Legions is a fun idea, but lacking a more hands-on approach to the strategy aspect, it feels like the game really needed to do more with its card concept to really come into its own. Allowing players to create their own card creatures at an increased gold cost would have been a great incentive, but as it is, it's still a surprisingly fun little exercise once it gets going. It takes a while before you get any of the really interesting cards to play with, and the final bosses can be pretty challenging. It makes you wish more of the enemies you encountered outside those huge battles had more of the tricky, interesting abilities the Horsemen do. Monster Legions is one of Nerdook's simpler games, but comes with a great style and a fun chance to let the conqueror inside you out on a coffee break or two.

Love Story Snail Bob 5: Love Story is certainly the most polished episode in the series so far. Everything is just on the right side of adorable, the mechanics work like a charm, and there are enough new elements to make this instalment clearly stand out from the ones before. The sweetest of these is the little ant in a top hat, who is polite enough to help Bob out by standing on some buttons. Every level still has three stars you can find, and this time round they seem even more fiendishly hidden than before. Uncovering them is a challenge in its own right, especially because they unlock mini-games, an all-new, all-cute side feature. With the amount of things to do in every stage, it was a good decision to keep everything on the same screen. This way you have the time to stop Bob at the beginning of the level, quickly survey all the options, plan your strategy and execute it. Or, if you're feeling extra brave, try to solve puzzles as Bob slides along. In any case, do give this game a try, because the Snail Bob series deserves it. It has managed to stay fresh, original and funny in that silly, snail way, and is sure to delight its fans all over again.
